African Serval Kittens

Key Characteristics:

Size: 21-24 inches (53-60 cm) at the shoulder

Weight: 18-40 pounds (8-18 kg)

Coat: Golden-yellow with black spots and stripes

Lifespan: 10-12 years in the wild, up to 20 years in captivity

The serval’s long legs and large ears give it a significant advantage in hunting, allowing it to leap up to 10 feet in the air to catch birds and detect the slightest sounds of its prey. Its diet mainly consists of rodents, birds, insects, and small mammals. While solitary and primarily nocturnal, servals may also be active during the day, depending on the availability of food.
